About VALSABOR, S.A.
VALSABOR, S.A. was established in 1989 in Alcanede, Santarém, Portugal, with the objective of building a dedicated pork processing operation focused on quality, food safety, and reliable supply for both domestic and international markets. From the beginning, VALSABOR, S.A. was developed as a structured meat processing company grounded in strict hygiene standards and controlled production practices.
VALSABOR, S.A. expanded its operations through continuous investment in modern infrastructure, processing technology, and strong partnerships with certified livestock suppliers. Over time, VALSABOR, S.A. developed a fully integrated production chain that includes animal sourcing, slaughtering, cutting, processing, packaging, cold storage, and distribution, ensuring full traceability and consistent product quality.
VALSABOR, S.A. gradually grew from a national pork processor into an internationally active exporter of Portuguese pork products, serving multiple global markets. Today, VALSABOR, S.A. is recognized for its commitment to innovation, sustainability, animal welfare, and compliance with international certifications, including export approval for demanding markets such as China under GACC registration requirements.

Our Values
We hold OCA CALITAX certification for traceability from farm (live animals and food) to consumer. We have our own laboratory at our facilities, which is registered with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Government of LISBOA.
